Profile:	Dr. Buesa is the Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board of Oryzon Genomics, one of the fastest-growing biotech companies in Spain. His work in the biotech industry reaches into other biotech companies as a member of the board for Neurotech Pharma and Oncnosis Pharma. Currently, Dr. Buesa is the President of the Association of Catalan Biotechnology Companies CataloniaBio, and a member of the governing body of the Association of Spanish Biotechnology Companies ASEBIO and sits on the Executive Committee of BioRegio de Catalunya, a new regional development model that was set up with a goal of improving the biotechnology cluster in Catalonia. Dr. Buesa has extensive experience in the Biotech arena. He received his PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Barcelona and has written more than 30 papers and holds numerous patents. Most of his scientific career was developed as a member of the cell signalling research team in the Pharmacy Faculty at the University of Barcelona. After completing his PhD, Dr. Beusa won an EU post-doctoral fellowship in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ghent in Belgium, and later he became a Senior Investigator with the Flemish Institute of Biotechnology (VIB), in Belgium.
