Profile:	Lip-Bu Tan is Chairman and founder of Walden International. Prior to WI, he was Vice President at Chappell & Co. and held management positions at EDS Nuclear and ECHO Energy. He leads the management team of Walden International. Active in the venture capital industry in the United States since 1982, Tan pioneered the U.S. venture capital investment concept in Asia in 1986 and continues to promote the venture capital industry in the Asia-Pacific region. He currently serves on the board of directors at Centillium Communications, Creative Technology Ltd., Premisys Communications and Integrated Silicon Solutions, Inc., among others. Tan earned a master's degree in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a master's degree in business administration from the University of San Francisco, where he serves on the board of trustees. Tan received his bachelor's degree from Nanyang University in Singapore.
